I am a great listner of FM radio station, i.e. all those which are beamed on Delhi and NCR. Earlier I used to listen during the long car journeys from home to office covering two states and a distance of a total of 70 km. After relocating to Faridabad I started listening FM at home also.
There are many musical programs aired for the benefit of listeners. Mainly old songs of yester years. I like those songs. The musical program hosts insist that listeners send them SMS telling their views about the programs. And in this internet era messages do reach the radio station instantaneously and they read out their names. And listeners are happy listening their names aired from radio. Occasionally the hosts do say that they received a large number of SMS’s and hence can not reply each of them due to the constraint of time. However I have noticed that name of one listener invariably figures in all the programs and his name is Parikshit from Faridabad. First of all I doubt that Parikshit listens to all the programs of the day and regularly send SMS’s to the radio station. This is more strange when listeners have to send many SMS’s over a period of time before one of their SMS’s is replied, while Parkshit’s SMS is always replied. This casts a doubt that this might be the job an insider in 106.4 who may be known or relative of Parikshit and wants to make him happy by broadcasting his name.
I don’t know whether FM 106.4 people will ever read this post but my humble request is don’t do this thing. Don’t selectively read some body’s name when hundreds of other listeners on genuine faith send you SMS and they have to wait for many days before their names are mentioned in air, if at all.
Who knows may be some day I will meet Pariskshit here in Faridabd or he reads my post and replies to this blog?
